LG Table Tennis Tournament organized by
LG Electronics, came to a successful end
at the Al-Hamra Sofitel Hotel here
recently. Playing for the last run of
singles trophy were all solid
contestants with excellent singles track
record. A total of 32 players vied for
the honors in pre-quarterfinals,
quarterfinals, semifinals and
final. Players pitched to play
quarterfinals were Mansoor Abdul Rehman
vs Shah Alam, Suleman vs Hazim, Riaz
Jumaa vs Asadullah Ghalib and Benny vs
Basher. Mansoor Abdul Rehman's bold
shots met with excellent defensive
performance by Shah Alam. However, Mansoor
won in straight two games at 21-19,
21-14. In the second quarterfinal,
