LG Electronics, the Korean Electronics, Home Appliance and Telecommunications giant was selected by the CDMA Development Group (CDG) to receive the Industry Achievement Award, for Subscriber Technology Innovation for the year 2003.
Industry Achievement Awards recognize significant contributions by companies and individuals towards the advancement of wireless technology. The award was presented at the CDMA Americas Congress at the Miami Convention Center, on December 9th, 2003.
Presenting the award, Perry LaForge, Executive Director CDG said " We congratulate LG Mobile Phones for it's continued innovation in offering consumers state-of-the-art CDMA2000 devices. We must applaud LG for it's commitment to the advancement of 3G CDMA2000".
LG Mobile phones were judged for pioneer engineering, distinctive design and unique features.
LG Electronics entered the U.S. Mobile Phone handset market in 1998, and since has made a name for itself by continually providing consumers with user friendly, high functional capability and sleek design.
LG Electronics entered mobile phone market in Saudi Arabia during the first quarter of 2003 and has since introduced 5 different models. Latest of it's unique models is the Qibla Mobile phone which gives the correct direction of Mekkah.
